What is Electronic Music?!

Updated: Sep 27, 2022

Electronic music is a full array of instruments and/or sounds created partially or completely through the use of computer software and digitally created instruments/sounds.

In the task of creating music for commercial use, personal use, and for a variety of projects, electronic music is just one tool at your disposal to achieve professional quality soundtracks. You may create a complete symphonic orchestra sound, a full band, an acoustic duo/trio, or a single instrument to back up your vocals... but you can also incorporate live instrumentation and recorded tracks into the electronic song to make a combination, for example you are a guitar player and singer with recorded stems (individual recorded instruments or vocals) and need to "create" a full band experience for your project/record. I can create the other instrumentation to back up your guitar and vocals. There are various ways of coming to a completed project with the use of software, such as Logic Pro or other software on the market. I use multiple platforms when I create.

Is it all beeps and boops?? NOOOOO the multitude of sounds that can be produced with electronic/digital platforms can be seriously authentic and full- just like homemade instrument tracks!! The average listener could not tell if a song was studio recorded using instruments or digitally created...especially after a proper mix and master is done.

There are filters which can be applied to recordings through the use of these tools which can also give sounds really cool effects, like vinyl, which gives the gritty sound of an actual vinyl record, or vocal filters that replicate the sounds of some really expensive mics, etc.

Whatever sound you're trying to achieve with the project you're working on, it can be done.
